The Guardians (2012)

Fifteen-year-old Nina becomes a target after witnessing a horrific crime that threatens her life. As an orphan, she has no one to rely on. When corrupt businessman Thomas Backer sends a group of assassins after her, Max, a witness protection officer and former special-forces soldier, is tasked with keeping her safe. Initially distant, they gradually bond over their shared predicament. As they evade Backer’s relentless pursuit, Rudi, one of Max’s old friends, comes to their aid repeatedly. Max’s ex-girlfriend, Sara, also steps in as a federal prosecutor. However, the dangers escalate, and soon both Nina and Max find themselves in desperate need of protection.
